1) Do I have to remove my regulator valve?
No, we can provide that service, free of charge and many times it is better because many bottles fail "Hydro" due to damaged threads from faulty regulator removal.
2) Fail, Hydro?! How often does that happen?
Not very often, in fact. About 99.9% pass, and many fail, like it says above, due to improper regulator removal.
3) My bottle is 2 yrs overdue... should I still get it tested or throw it out?
Keep it! Most fiberwrapped bottles have a 15 yr lifespan, so it is worth it to get it Hydro tested.
4) What happens if my bottle fails?
We are required to make the tank inoperable by drilling a hole in it according to DOT standards. We will notify you of this right away, but you will still have to pay Hydro testing fees.
5) What is the best way to ship a bottle?
MAKE SURE ALL THE AIR IS OUT. It isn't pretty or legal if you ship it with air still in the tank. Once the air is out, wrap the bottle in bubble wrap or something padded and make sure the regulator is nice and padded too.
